Dental Implants

A dental implant is a replacement root of a missing tooth. A dental implant replaces your tooth as long as you have enough bone to hold the implant into position.

Sometimes you may need to have the bond grafted to add new bone to integrate with the implant. Once the implant is integrated with your bone and is positioned properly, a crown is added to the implant and you now have your missing tooth replaced. It is very important that the gum is handled properly.

The gum must cover the implant completely or else you will have metal showing. Your gum should fit up in between your teeth or else you will have a dark space or gap between your teeth. Food will collect in those places.

The skill of your implant dentist is vital if you are going to have successful care that looks natural and feels natural and works with your bite.
